Rap Tapes: Collection

Here is a video I found about this dude's rap tapes that he just purchased.  He came up on some pretty good ones.  I had a huge tape collection growing up, most of my tapes were recorded tapes though, I never really bought any OG's, I kind of wished I did though, maybe I could have had a great collection like this dude:

Fight Review: Rios v Abril

In a night that started with 1st round knockouts & stoppages by the preliminaries in action, the main event card was properly set up.  Mercito Gesta didn't do much to impress, but did wound up stopping Oscar Cuero after an 8th round TKO.  The fight of the night was between Mike Alvarado v Mauricio Herrera, from the beginning of the opening bell, these two warriors pounded one another with tremendous flurries. It seemed that Herrera would try to steal rounds by turing on his offensive display in the last :30 seconds or so.  Mike Alvarado proved to be the stronger of the two while delivering the more powerful shots in the back and forth fight.  Alvarado got the decision by outlasting Herrera by scores of, 99-91, 97-93, 96-94.  Definitely a Fight of the Year candidate.  In the co-main event, Brandon Rios had difficulty trying to figure out the witty Richard Abril.  Rios looked confused, as Abril outboxed Bam Bam for the latter part of the fight, Rios had no answer.  In a stunning decision, Rios got the victory by scores of 115-113, 116-112, & what many people saw it, 111-117.  This was truly a robbery in part of the two judges that scored it for Brandon Rios, further proves that boxing has alot of problems in it's sport and I witnessed it 1st hand.  In the main event, ring legend Juan Manuel Marquez outscored the Ukranian, Sergey Fedchenko to claim the interim WBO Junior Welterweight title.  Scored were 119-109, 118-110, 118-110, as the Mexican Legend out boxed Fedchenko.

Rios v Abril: Fight Preview

Brandon Rios vs Richard Abril at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.  This was supposed to be for the vacant lightweight championship, but when Rios failed to make weight in his 2nd consecutive fight, he forfeited the chance to fight for the title.  Now only Abril has the chance to win the title with an upset victory over Rios.  I expect Rios to do the same thing he did in his last fight & work his way into the inside & disrupt Abril's boxing chance of pulling the upset.  Richard's only chance is to try to out box Brandon and to not get into an exchange match with him, if he does, you cans assure Bam Bam will make quick work of Abril.  These two have been getting under each other's skin since the get-go.  I expect Rios to eventually fight his fight and bring furious pressure to Abril.  Also in action will be Mike Alvarado vs Mauricio Herrera, Mercito Gesta vs Oscar Cuero.  In a split-site main event, Ring Legend Juan Manuel Marquez will face Ukranian, Serihy Fedchenko in New Mexico City Arena in Mexico.  The fights will be televised by HBO Pay-Per-View promoted by Top Rank.  I will be in attendance at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for the fights!

Noez Fight Predictions:
Rios defeats Abril in 6 rounds (TKO)
Alvarado wins by 5 rd (TKO)
Gesta wins by Decision

Juan Manuel Marquez wins by 9th round (KO)

'Big Fun In The Big Town' (Official Trailer)

New York, 1986: a city of big dreams and equally big problems. Like New York itself, hip-hop music encompassed both of these human conditions. But hip-hop and its cultural birthplace shared other important characteristics, too: the desire to always be original, a hustle-to-survive ambition, and — if the stars aligned — the ability to come out on top, no matter what the odds.

Dutch filmmaker, journalist and rap fanatic Bram Van Splunteren stepped into the city for one intense week in 1986. He was armed with five things: a camera crew, a map, a deep respect for the hip-hop artform, a list of phone numbers, and a burning desire to get to the bottom of what this still-growing subculture was all about. By the time he left, he had the answers he needed, along with a treasure trove of golden video footage. Tragically, these images never returned from Europe, languishing in obscurity from hip-hop’s homeland for more than a quarter-century. Until now.
