Video: Henry Chalfant's 'All City'

Awesome insight to some prominent graff artist and bboy figures in this video short:

Director Henry Chalfant introduces his film All City (1983), which grew out of an idea to do a youth TV program about Hip Hop and other cultural phenomena of interest to young urbanites. The program was never realized, but the trailer grew into a portrait of the different elements of Hip Hop in the mid-80s. The venue is Fashion Moda, a popular art gallery on Third Avenue in the Bronx. There is a demonstration of Bboying, and Rap, followed by a discussion, hosted by Spank TC5, about art and culture with important graffiti artists of the time including Dondi, Butch, Mare and Brim. The video includes a montage of murals by Henry Chalfant and a Pop and Lock lesson by Mr. Wiggles. It features the young Bboy crew, VTB, The Very Tough Breakers.

Fight Review: Donaire v Arce

At the Toyota Center in Houston, Nonito Donaire faced off against Jorge Arce with his WBO Super Bantamweight Ttile on the line.  After taking a Doanire left hook, Arce seemed really reserved on mixing it up.  Donaire scored a 2nd round knock down on Arce, before Doanire struck Arce with a left hook in the 3rd round.  That left hook was the finishing touches to Donaire's quick disposal of Jorge Arce, putting an end not only to the fight, but also to the career of Arce.  Arce announced his retirement after the fight.  Now the question will be who will Donaire target next in his quest for the Super Bantamweight supremacy.

Fight Review: Khan v Molina

In the main event on Saturday Night, Amir Khan beat up on Carlos Molina.  From the first round on, Khan proved to be to fast, strong and skilled for the shorter and lack-luster Molina.  Khan displayed his full potential at Carlos Molina's expense.  The bout was halted after ten rounds, as Molina's corner put an end to the fight.  It was evident that his pace was altered by Virgil Hunter, Khan didn't bounce much after taking punches, he was much more tamed.  Molina proved to be a stepping-stone to Khan's return, as he was beaten to every punch as he was no match to Amir Khan.  Khan's test is yet to come and time will tell if Khan truly can make his way back to the top with a worthy opponent.

In the undercard bout, Alfredo Angulo battled Jorge Silva.  From the 1st round, Angulo and Silva went toe-to-toe in a no holds-barred fight.  Throughout the fight, heavy punches were thrown and landed.  The younger Silva was no push over against Angulo as he gave him all he can handle.  In the end Angulo was too strong and showed good stamina in the late rounds to get the decision over Jorge Silva by identical scores of 97-93(Three Times).

In the early bout at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, Leo Santa Cruz faced off against Alberto Guevara.  Guevara brought the fight to Santa Cruz in the 1st half of the fight, but Santa Cruz sustained.  In the 2nd half of the fight, Santa Cruz did enough to earn the decision, although the scores seemed a bit to wide.  The scores came in 116-112, 118-110 & 119-109.  Despite a wide margin on the scorecards, Santa Cruz did deserve the win with a workman-like performance.

Fight Preview: Donaire v Arce

This Saturday Night on HBO's Championship Boxing, the Filipino versus Mexican rivalry continues as Nonito Donaire puts his WBO Super Bantamweight Championship on the line against Mexico's bad boy, Jorge Arce.  These two are friends outside the ring, but inside the ring on Saturday night in Houston Texas, Donaire and Arce will try to put a beating on each other to gain supremacy in the Super Bantamweight division.  Donaire clearly is the bigger and faster fighter, as Arce must show will and courage to try and even things up with Nonito.  Arce must try to make it a closed quarters fight, as he may be toast if he keeps his distance against the longer Donaire who has light speed punching power.  These two have the skills and pride that can turn this fight into fireworks, so it's gonna be interesting if Arce can withstand Donaire speed and power, if he can, watch out.  Nonito Donaire v Jorge Arce will air live on HBO's World Championship Boxing at 6:30 PM PST.

Noez Prediction:
Donaire Wins by TKO (10th Rd)

Fight Preview: Khan v Molina

This Saturday Night at the L.A. Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California, Amir Khan returns to action to face off against Carlos Molina in a Junior Welterweight Bout.  Of course Khan is coming off 2 difficult losses to Lamont Peterson & Danny Garcia, as he hope to get back to his winning ways against Carlos Molina.  Molina is a perfect 17-0 in his first five years as a professional and looks to keep Khan from rebounding to victory at his expense.  Khan will fight Molina under the watchful eye of his new trainer, Virgil Hunter, and hopes to come in to the fight with a new sense of beginning to strive to get back to the top of his division.  Khan's defense and fight tactics were in question under former trainer Freddie Roach, it will be interesting how Hunter imposes his training will on Khan to prepare him for his bout versus Carlos Molina.  Molina on the other hand must test that chin of Khan and apply pressure by maybe fighting in the inside, smothering Khan and keeping Khan's hand speed to a minimum.  Molina won't be no pushover against Amir Khan as he expects to be victorious and continue his unbeaten streak.  Khan v Molina will air live on Showtime at 7:30 PM PST.

Also in action will be 'EL Perro' Angulo on his quest to return to the top of the Welterweight division when he squares off against fellow Mexican, Jorge Silva.  Angulo too is trained by Virgil Hunter, and is looking for some new tutorship on his climb back to the top.
Leo Santa Cruz will open up things at the L.A. Sports Arena as he will face Alberto Guevara in a bout that will be showcased on national network televison, CBS.  Santa Cruz looks to showcase his talents and exquisite boxing skills to a broader audience live on national tv.  Santa Cruz v Guevara will air on CBS at 1:30 PM PST.

Noez Predictions:
Amir Khan Wins by Decision (Unanimous)
Alfredo Angulo wins by TKO (3rd Round)
Leo Santa Cruz Wins TKO (7th Rd)

Fight Review: Pacquiao v Marquez 4

It was a fight that many people claimed to have been tired of after their trilogy, why a fourth fight, because these two legends of boxing brought back their beloved sport to the lime-light.  Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez were just made for each other, from the opening bell to their fourth meeting, these two warriors resumed where they left off.  Pacquiao was dominating the first 2 rounds during the feeling out process landing some powerful shots.  This time around Marquez stunned Manny with a looping right hand that sent Pacman to the canvas, the tide had been turned in the 3rd round after that big shot.  Manny was not going to let a huge shot in the 3rd round hold him down, he came back with a vengeance in the 4th and 5th round, as he sent Marquez down in the 5th with a hard right hand that knocked Marquez off balance forcing him to touch the mat with his glove to try and stay up.  Marquez survived the 5th round by fighting back as Pacquiao was pouring it on.  The 6th round was more of vintage Pacquaio, but Marquez kept fighting back, despite suffering a possible broken nose.  With one measly second left in the 6th round, Marquez caught Manny with a stiff right that landed square onto Manny's face knocking him out, cold.  Marquez had done it, he took care of any doubt people had in the previous 3 fights with one stone cold shot that was heard around the world.  It is moments like this that reminds us why we love the sport of boxing so much, the element of surprise.  Despite Pacquaio being knocked out, this fight brought back boxing to the fore-front of sports.  And to think, some people wondered why a fourth fight between these two, heck we can only be so luck to see them touch 'em up for a fifth bout.

Fight Preview: Pacquiao v Marquez 4

This Saturday, December 8, 2012 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Manny Pacquaio squares off against Juan Manuel Marquez.  This will be the 4th time that these two future hall of famers will duel it out in the ring.  Of course, Pacquiao has gotten the best of Marquez by defeating him twice, although very close decisions, and one draw.  It's evident that Pacquiao wants to finish off Marquez to silence the critics who have had second thoughts about Manny's two victories.  We as fans are once again in for a treat, as all three previous fights have been barn burners, as this fourth match should be no different.  These two have styles that compliment each other quite well, the aggressiveness of Pacquiao and the sweet counter-boxing of Marquez makes this rivalry such a great rivalry to witness.  I expect more of the same, but maybe Marquez can become more of the aggressor to try and impose his will on Pacquiao early on in the fight.  More fireworks are sure to be set in this fight.  I've heard people talking about how they are tired if this rivalry, but I believe that it's these kind of rivalries that define careers and help enhance the sport of boxing, besides these have been exciting back and forth action packed fights.  Once again, casual boxing fans may not fully appreciate this great rivalry, but I for one cannot wait for Saturday to watch these two legends of the game go at it one more time.  Pacquiao v Marquez will be promoted by Top Rank Promotions and will be televised live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas via Pay Per View.

Noez Prediction:
Manny Pacquiao Wins by Split Decision, lol!

Marley Marl 'Classic Recipes': "Eric B. Is President"

In the second installment of Marley Marl ‘Classic Recipes,’ he shows you how he produced “Eric B. Is President” in 1986, the debut single for legendary hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim. Marl talks about meeting Rakim for the first time and discusses the collaborative process with Eric B. that would yield one of the most influential hip hop tracks ever. “Eric B. Is President” combines a bassline from Fonda Rae’s bonafide 1982 club hit “Over Like a Fat Rat” and a beat from James Brown’s 1974 hit “Funky President.” Putting these two parts together was a bit tricky due to differences in tempo, but Marley resolved this problem by replaying the bassline with his trusty Casio CZ-101 keyboard instead of just sampling it.
