So I just saw 'The Fighter' and I must say that I really enjoyed the movie. Chrstian Bale was great as Dicki Eklund, and Mark Wahlberg was awesome as Mickey Ward. The fight scenes were alright where they used actual sound from HBO broadcasters commentating on the fights, some commentating though was strange, for example, HBO usually consist of 3 broadcasters, Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant and a color analyst, at the time being George Foreman or Roy Jones J.R. Sometimes you would hear both Foreman and Jones commentating on the same fight which was unrealistic, also you would hear some sound that seemed like they were from other Ward bouts, so that took away from the realistic stand point of the film. But I guess you would have to be a real boxing fan to notice that. The other disappointing thing was that Ward's epic trilogy with Arturo Gatti just got a mere mention at the end, I would of loved to see them attempt to re-enact that trilogy, for me, that's how I got into Mickey Ward. So with that said, the film really took you into Dicki's life and how difficult it was for him to kick his addiction of crack for the benefit of his brother. It took for him to go to prison for to realize that he had to make a change to help his brother achieve goals in boxing that he never achieved himself....a must see if you're a fight fan. Teena Marie - Portuguese Love Live At The Beacon, May 10 2009
Despite "Square Biz" by Teena Marie being the main song I rock when I DJ, "Portuguese Love" has got to be my favorite Teena Marie song. Her voice soothes the loungy, jazz-like melody that really triggers a good feeling. R.I.P. to Teena Marie, her music and wonderful voice will live on.

DJ Noez on Neither World Radio-Best of...
In commemoration of a great year in boxing, especially these last few months, I would like to bring back my "Fight Night" Mix from Neither World Radio earlier this year. I start off with sound from one of my favorite fights ever between the late great, Arturo "Thunder" Gatti vs Mickey "Irish" Ward(Which the movie "The Fighter" is based on...i still gotta see it!) I then go into some DMX which was the entrance song that Mike Tyson came into during his first fight after he got out of prison. I then keep it going with fight-related tracks, enjoy. Don't forget to be on the lookout for the new season of Neither World Radio www.neitherworldradio.wordpress.com
DJ Noez-"Fight Night" Mix
...here's the clip of one of the best rounds in boxing history, great call by the HBO crew as well, really adds to the drama...love it!
Pic of The Day..
Today while driving through Downtown L.A., I caught a glimpse of a double rainbow, I began to snap away with my phone, this was probably the best shot of all. Rather nice to see a double rainbow, don't think I've ever seen that before. I guess after enduring all that rain, mother nature decides to bless us with a double rainbow, not bad.

Howard Goes Mobile, finally!
***I'm pretty exited bout this:
With news that popular shock jock Howard Stern has resigned with Sirius XM satellite radio for an additional five years, one of the biggest questions has remained unanswered — at least until now.
When will Howard Stern hit the Sirius XM mobile application? As part of Stern’s new five-year contract, he and his crew will have their daily show broadcast on Sirius XM’s mobile applications for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, BlackBerry, and Android. Since Stern’s first contract with Sirius XM expires at the end of December, theHoward Stern Show will officially hit the mobile application in January.
No word as to whether or not the mobile app update (which included the Howard Stern Show) will hit on the 1st of January, but if it doesn’t, it will just days later.
More detailed information as it becomes available.
***I finally get to get my daily dose of the 'News'!

Great night of boxing, showcased by 2 great fights!
This past weekend, I was really excited for Amir Khan v Marcos Maidana on HBO, and Abner Mares v Vic Darchinyan on Showtime. great fighters can only equal great fights!
-MARES V DARCHINYAN-
-KHAN V MAIDANA-
WBA super lightweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) won a twelve round firefight against WBA interim super lightweight titleholder Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27 KOs) on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It looked like an early night when Khan dropped Maidana with two hellacious body shots at the end of round one. Khan punished Maidana further in round two, but the rock hard Maidana kept coming. Maidana was the aggressor in round three applying heavy pressure. Maidana was deducted a point by referee Joe Cortez for throwing an elbow in round five. Maidana was relentless and found a home for his uppercut in round seven. Khan rallied in the eighth as his speed and ring movement allowed him to avoid exchanges. Maidana got to Khan in the tenth and battered him all over the ring. It was a battle of attrition in the eleventh with fighters both having their moments. Maidana desperately went for the knockout in round twelve, but Khan weathered the storm. Scores were 114-111, 114-111, and 113-112.
-MARES V DARCHINYAN-
After an action-packed doubleheader, Joseph King Kong Agbeko and Abner Mares emerge as the finalists in The Bantamweight Tournament: Winner Takes All on SHOWTIME®. In a rematch of their Halloween 2009 meeting, Agbeko reclaimed the IBF bantamweight world championship he lost from Yonnhy “El Colombiano” Perez via unanimous decision with an equal parts aggressive and calculated performance. Mares won a gritty split decision over the veteran Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan in a fight that thrilled fans in attendance at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.
After overworking the punch stat machine in their first bout last year, Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs) surprised Perez (20-1-1, 14 KOs) and impressed the SHOWTIME boxing analysts with an excitingly effective strategy throughout the fight. Displaying excellent defense and choosing his shots wisely, Agbeko dictated the fight’s direction through the early rounds with hard right hands and quick combinations. By the fifth round, the defending champion Perez had a cut over his left eye and began to fight with a sense of urgency.
In a potential Round of the Year sixth round, Perez, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., turned the match into a brawl as the punches began to fly at a pace much closer to Perez’ normal work rate. The men ditched defense for offense for the full three minutes and were rewarded by a standing ovation at round’s end. By the seventh, Agbeko, of Bronx, N.Y., by way of Ghana, regained his composure and continued with his game plan through most of the bout’s final six rounds. Judges scored the fight a unanimous decision for Agbeko with scores of 115-113, 116-112 and 117-111 to hand Perez his first career loss.
Referencing the IBF belt now in his hands, Agbeko exclaimed. “This is my meal ticket and I’m glad I got it back. I am presenting it to Ghana as a Christmas bonus.” When asked about the upcoming tournament final with Mares, he said, “I’ve watched Abner Mares. He is a very smart kid. King Kong is always King Kong. I’m going to get the crown from him.”
Respectful in defeat, Perez offered, “Agbeko had an intelligent fight today and he won fair and square. I did not expect this game plan from Agbeko.”
SHOWTIME boxing analyst Al Bernstein noted, “Round seven was an important round. Agbeko stemmed the tide of the Perez onslaught.” Showing not a speck of ring rust after a 13-month break from boxing, Agbeko’s victory not only put the IBF title back in his position but earned him a spot in the tournament’s finals in 2011 against tonight’s other winner Mares. Mares said of the fight, “It was a hard fight, my hardest fight ever.”
In the thrilling opening bout, Darchinyan (35-3-1, 27 KOs) and Mares (21-0-1, 13 KOs) produced a bloody, back-and-forth battle for 12 rounds in front of a spirited crowd in the Pacific Northwest. Despite being cut along his hairline in the first round, Mares displayed his mettle and chin by withstanding the mighty two-division champion’s destructive left hand.
Darchinyan dropped Mares for the first time in his career with a flash knockdown in the second round. Capping off Mares’ adversity-filled start, referee Bobby Howard deducted a point from him in the fourth round for low blows.
Showing the qualities of a champion that Mares may soon become, he shrugged off the incident-filled start and forged on with blood pouring down his face and behind on points. To start the sixth round, Mares came out punching in combinations and landing big right hand shots. By the seventh round, Mares knocked down an off-balance Darchinyan with a glancing blow and felt the tide was beginning to turn.
“Our plan was to push him back because we know he likes to bully people. He has a tremendous punch. I proved that I could take punches,” said the emerging Mexican star who hails from Guadalajara and lives in Montebello, Calif. “I kept pushing him back. I heard him moan every time I landed a body shot.”
Although known for his power, Darchinyan surprised many with a display of untapped boxing skills by using the ring and counterpunching for most of the fight before reverting back to hunting for a big left punch as his energy faded. By the fight’s final rounds, Darchinyan looked tired and attempted to hold on to Mares – and his points lead – to no avail. The well-conditioned Mares continued to stalk Darchinyan as the fight’s aggressor and eventually did enough to win an exciting split decision with scores of 115-111 and 113-112 for Mares and 115-111 for Darchinyan.
The close fight and split decision loss did not leave Darchinyan pleased. “It’s very disgusting, very bad ref. I think, of course, I won. He didn’t let me do what I wanted to do,” said Darchinyan before conceding about Mares, “He is a tough kid.”
The night’s action delivered just what it intended: exciting, competitive and compelling fights for SHOWTIME viewers. The night also delivered the makings of another incredible night of 118-pound action in 2011 as Agbeko and Mares will compete for weight class supremacy and the IBF title. In the consolation bout, Perez and Darchinyan will look to bounce back from tough, hard fought losses.

Overall an exciting night of boxing capped by these two bouts, it was fun to switch channels and be treated to great, action-packed fights. Boxing has produced some great fights in the latter part of the year, I can't remember the last time a year was capped off by great fights. Great way to bring in the new year, 2010 going out with a big-bang!

Noez presents: Bridge Rox 12/7/10 Noez Bday Edition!
This Tuesday December 7th 2010, I will be celebrating my birthday at Sunset Room in Hacienda Heights with special guests: DJ MZA, Pax Crew feat. MindFrame Dank & Grimes and Crop Circles. Should, & will be a fun night, I'm really looking foward to it. I will try to get Audio the night, big ups to everyone on the bill, much appreciated, let's have a good one...stay posted.

***BRIDGE ROX REVIEW***
The night starts off with Dream & I setting up shop. I go in to set-up the turntables and speakers, Dream handles the mixing board and mics. A couple of girls at the bar kind of take notice of the equipment, & sort of mention that they know what to expect fom DJ's, I try telling them, that this ain't no typical night at Sunset Room. While Dream & I put the finishing touches on the set-up, The Crop Circles posse arrives with their set-up, before long, we've got quite an ensemble going on. They bring in keys, amps & not to mention these two mammoth MC's, Ailments & Arty Swell..oh yeah & Clockwize along with their keyboardist.
I'm finally ready to rock, I go in with some Flying Lotus, to set the mood right, it won't be long before I bring in the "boom bap" and before those girls at the bar know what hit them, a full out hip hop night has broken out! Oh sh**!..I forgot to start recording, by the middle of my set I immediately hit "Rec" on my recorder, & we're up and running with the recording. MZA then steps into the place, and now I start to get amped knowing that we've got quite a collection of folks ready to rock. While I start to wrap up my set, I go from that 'hardcore ruggedy-raw, smack ya' in ya' face with a closed fist', hip hop ish, and try to set MZA up. Kind of tough to predict what MZA has in-store, but I try my best. I take it down a few notches with Pe2ny & cap my set off with ATCQ's "1nce Again".
MZA hits the decks, starts rockin' with what sounds to me, like some Chuck D, nevertheless he goes right into some Jazz & Latin funk, and before you know we got a party going on, Soul Circle Radio is in the house! Shout outs to his homie(forgot his name), Cat, and Michelle Q. it didn't take them long to get busy on the dance floor during MZA's set, but that's what he does, I sometimes catch myself busting some moves when I'm listening to Soul Circle Radio. It's always great to see him man the turntables, with his subtle flash behind the decks tweaking & EQing the mixer, it was a pleasure to have him bring his Soul Circle Radio vibe to Sunset Room. MZA starts to wrap up his set with some classic hip hop, and starts setting the mood for some live performances.
Crop Circles begin to get ready for their performance, Clockwize gets behind the decks, Ailments and Arty Swell start 'mic-checking' the mics, their keyboardist sets himself in behind the keys, and they dive right into their set. Really dope set, Clockwize busts double duty rockin the beats behind the turntables and rockin' the mic along with his counter parts Ailments & Arty Swell. They flawlessly go through their set going back and forth with each other and interacting with the crowd asking for some sort of noise & energy, be it good or bad, although Arty Swell prefers only a good response, ha! Overall really dope set from the Crop Circles, displaying real command of their craft, with their set and stage presence, awesome set, no doubt!
MindFrame Dank is up next taking center stage, as he too goes right into his set. My apologies, goes out to him, Gobbs & Ras Buck for not being able to record their sets. I had to take the cable from the recorder and use it to plug and get sound from their laptop. Regradless MindFrame Dank did his thing during his set, rocking out to some ill beats, while supplying them with some ill flows. While winding down his set he breaks into a freestyle inviting Ailments, & Arty Swell to join him in a freestyle session. Great job from MindFrame Dank.
Gobbs & Ras Buck hit the center stage next with an impromtu set to begin their performance. Gobbs & Ras Buck go back to back rocking out to some PAX beats. Gobbs gets busy rockin' flows & some spanish too! Ras Buck starts to rock to his beats while Gobbs joins in. Ras Buck provides timely flows, with some pretty dope lines that provide words of encouragement, and reminder to have fun while rocking out. He gets into a 'rasta' like performance while winding down his set, that puts a finishing touch to a great night of performances. I jumped back on the turntables to close out the night. Big ups to all the performers and DJ's plus sound-man(Dream) for coming through and showcasing their skills, dope night of hip hop out in the Bridge, despite Sunset Room being in Hacienda Heights, Bridge City was definitely in the house!!! What a way to celebrate a Bday. .Noez!

Pacman destroys Margarito!
For those of us who saw Pacquiao v Margarito over the weekend, witnessed possibly the best pound for pound boxer in the game right now, in Manny Pacquiao. His domination over Antonio Margarito was probably Pacman's most impressive victory yet. Despite being out weighed by 17 pounds to the much taller Margarito, Pacman ferociously destroyed the Tijuana Tornado. Pacman dominated every round, and when Margarito would rally, Pacquiao would not only survive the rally, but would answer back with a flurry of his own. Margarito suffered a bad cut underneath his right eye that later puffed up shutting his eye. Overall an impressive showcase by the best pound for pound boxer, in my opinion, in Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao. Interesting to see what's next for the champ, time will tell.

NOEZ SPEAKS…..
I decided to break from my normal routine on Neither World Radio. I usually get the show started with that raw, hardcore, gully, underground hip hop $%it. But I wanted to rock some joints that I’ve been diggin’ on lately. It’s been a real long time since I’ve purchased music, thanks to my digi-record pools, blogs and homies, but I’ve recently dropped some funds on tracks on Beatport. These tracks, are on that chill, loungy tip, these tracks really mellow me out, whether I’m stuck in L.A. traffic, chillin’ at home after work, or when I want to stray away from the same ole’ FM b.s. Music sooths the soul and sets you straight, and I’ve found that to be oh so true while listening to some of these tracks.
So I named this week’s mix: “Cold-Chillin’ Excursions”-DJ Noez’s Revenge Mix. So I encourage you to peep this mix out if you just want to sit back, relax, and just chill. Listen for tracks from Flying Lotus, Andy Bolleshon, Pe2ny, Diogenes Club, and my new found crush, Samantha James…just to name a few. I had also recently read something in a blog that I found interesting and inspiring: “‘I’m not immune to playing a hit or two; sometimes it’s necessary to show the audience that I’m not conducting an educational seminar. But here we are in the Serato age, with access to millions of songs and DJ’s are still playing the same fifty over and over again… FROM THEIR LAPTOPS. There’s something wrong with that..” DJ Shadow. Well said! So with that, let your inner self escape for a bit, and take a ‘Cold-Chillin Excursion’ into a mix provided by myself, DJ Noez! Enjoy.

Look-a-Like
Look-a-like:
So we all know someone who looks like somebody, so I decided to post up some look-a-like pics of people looking like someone...now some may be spot on, and some not so much, but here's just a few to get this Post started.
For my first Look-a-like Texas Rangers Outfielder Nelson Cruz in my mind looks alot like the Dutch Electro DJ/Producer Afrojack, it might be the eye-brows, but there's something similar bout these 2.
Don't know what it is aout the next Look-a-Like, but when I'm watching ESPN and the World Series of Poker comes on, one of the announcers, Norman Chad, the color commentator happens to always remind of Brain the dog from Family Guy. Maybe it's because they both are wise-cracks.
And finially, the star of House, Hugh Laurie for some odd reason reminds me of none other that Homer Simpson. I think its the egg-like eyes & 5 o'clock shadow about these 2. If the Simpsons ever made a real-life movie, look no further.Sunday, November 7, 2010

Marquez v Lopez
Last Night's Marquez v Lopez fight was just what I expected, exciting. Knowing that Marquez is a warrior and Juanma is trying to prove himself, I had no doubt that this fight would bring fireworks. Great exchanges between both fighters, who both had great opportunities to finish each other off in the early rounds. Nevertheless, Juanma proved to be the more younger, stronger and more powerful of the two. Marquez put up a valient effort but couldn't make it to the 9th round due to a shoulder injury, giving Juan Manuel Lopez a TKO win. Juanma showed an exceptional chin, taking Marquez's shots and countering with some ferocious shots of his own. He also suprisingly out 'combo'd' the future hall of famer, Marquez. Juanma has set his place in the forefront of the division and now possibly sets up another anticipated fight with up and comer Yoriorkis Gamboa, oh boy! Great fight and possible 'Fight of the Year' candidate, Marquez v Lopez, congrats to Junama, he beat one of the best.

Meano Clip 11
'Meano' Vids consist of clips, shorts,
and situations that some may, or may not,
find amusing...I happen to enjoy me
some 'Meano'. Here's one of my favs,
Looks like a day in the mall, one of my
"most favortie" places to be at, humph!
The two with the matching backward
red hats are truly a beauty!
And the elder lady snoozing on the couch
with mouth-wide open is a classic. And the
bum-like figure spittin' game at the
volunteer worker also a good clip. Oh,
and great tune to wander around to.
Great inside look at a normal day
at the mall, great job!

Let's get it started...
Hey Now!
Thanks for peeping out my blog, not sure on how to go about this blog thang thang yet, but keep posted.
I'll be droppin' some mixes, many live recording sessions from spots where I spin at. I'll also be posting up some things of interest to me. Nevertheless, let's get this blog started...

This mix was recorded live 7.3.10, it was @ a birthday party, shout outs to Mario & Maggie for having me come through and cut loose. I basically went in there and took the mix for a ride, went into Freestyle, Classic House, Hip Hop & Electro, really cool party mix. Also big ups to my homie Milo who was in the house helping me out setting up shop.
Had so much fun at this party, everyone was great!
Enjoy the mix...
