Noez "Diggin' In The Crates'
Here is a mix I recorded on Justin TV, I actually go through a random crate of records, hence the name, 'Diggin' In The Crates'. Once I get through the first record's skipping mishaps I get into a groove, like I've never stopped spinning vinyl. I might have to spontaneously do this more often, it's pretty fun digging through my crates.

DJ Total Eclipse: A True Master In The Mix
Turntablist Total Eclipse releases this dope video of himself in the mix. Seems like he entered BET's 2nd season of 'Master of the Mix". Politics & controversy seem to have altered the show, nevertheless, Total Eclipse displays true skills in this video:
total eclipse from Elsewhere Labs on Vimeo.
total eclipse from Elsewhere Labs on Vimeo.
In order to reach a younger audience who might not be aware of his world renowned DJ status, Total Eclipse joined the cast of this season’s Master of the Mix, a reality show about DJs on BET. The show is hosted by super producer Just Blaze, and features judges including the legendary Kid Capri, socialite Amber Rose, and the first season’s runner up Vikter Duplaix. Although a risky move for a veteran of Total Eclipse’s status, he decided to join the reality show in order to showcase true turntablism to younger DJs and the overall music community.
This season, 11 DJs are competing for a $250K prize and contract to tour the world and represent the Smirnoff brand. It quickly became apparent after the first couple episodes that specific DJs were being edited in a more favorable manner than others, and fans of Total Eclipse and others began to question the integrity of the show. However, the legendary DJ was quick to come to the show’s defense, stating “It was a great experience to meet the cast and staff members, despite the compromise of editing. Win or Lose equals a Win in my case. No matter how my performance was perceived, I am not a pretender. My integrity was never compromised.”
In order to truly display his world-class abilities, Total Eclipse decided to release this video, demonstrating the art of turntablism, with enough tricks up his sleeve to satisfy DJ and music fans alike. Welcome to the world of Total Eclipse!

Fight Review: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Kermit Cintron
On Saturday Nov. 26th 2011, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez squared off against Kermit 'The Killer' Cintron in Mexico City. Alvarez was facing his 4th fight in the year 2011, looking to go perfect in the closing year.
The first couple of rounds, Alvarez was feeling out Cintron and using his counter punches to match with Kermit's high volume jab work. By the 3rd round, Canelo seemed very confident as he felt Kermit's power punching and giving almost no respect to Cintron's shots. Canelo used strong hooks to the body to downsize the taller Cintron. In the 4th round it was more of the same scenario, Canelo's hard hooks to the body followed by hooks & overhand rights to Cintron's head. Alvarez managed to score a knock down against Cintron, who really began to feel Canelo's far superior power. Kermit just made it out of the 4th round as he seemed dazed & confused before barely making it to his corner where it seemed he wouldn't be able to continue. Cintron showed great heart by coming out in the 5th round, where Canelo met him with strong hooks to the head as he knew Cintron was hurt. Cintron did put up a fight in the 5th as he might have stunned Canelo a couple times with hard hey makers that landed on Alvarez. By that time Kermit looked really gassed an uncoordinated as he threw his power punches, Canelo took advantage of this by rocking Cintron with more power shots to Cintron's head. The referee put a halt to the bout with less than 10 seconds left in the 5th round while Kermit was ready to take another knee on the canvas. A perfect 4-0 Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez goes in 2011 as he defeated Kermit Cintron with a 5th round TKO.
After the fight, Canelo discussed his interest in wanting to face the best in 2012, starting by calling out Floyd Mayweather J.R. As intriguing as that may sound, in my opinion, I think Canelo has far more better fights against fighters like, Chavez J.R., Sergio Martinez, the winner between Cotto-Margarito. Nevertheless, Alvarez does seem to be ready to fight the cream of the crop in the Super Welterweight division, that goes without doubt. Should make for an exciting 2012 for the young Canelo.
HBO's fights in Cincinnati produced stellar knockouts from hometown kid Adrien Broner in the 3rd round of his bout versus Martin Rodriguez. Capturing the WBO Junior Lightweight World Title, Broner would like to set himself up with greater fights in the upcoming year.
Gary Russell J.R. also won with a ferocious knock out of late replacement fighter, Heriberto Ruiz.
Good action packed quickie fights brought to us by HBO's 'Boxing After Dark'.
Results:
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez(win by 5th rd. TKO)
Adrien Broner(win by 3rd rd. KO)

Fight Preview: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Kermit Cintron
This Satrurday night Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will return to HBO's 'Boxing After Dark' & face off against Kermit Cintron. Canelo will put up his Super Welterweight title versus Cintron in Mexico City. Canelo is finishing up his very busy 2011 year with his 4th fight on HBO, where he has faced Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes, Alfonso Gomez & now Kermit Cintron on Saturday.
Kermit Cintron is trying to revamp his career coming off a 1-2 record in his last 3 fights. Cintron has faced notable fighters, such as Antonio Margarito(Cintron lost twice), Paul Williams(Cintron lost), Alfredo Angulo(Cintron win), & Sergio Martinez(draw). So Kermit claims he has what it takes and posesses the far more superior experience to square off and pull the upset against the young phenom in Canelo.
On Saturday night, these two will face off in Mexico City, part of HBO's double header which they will also feature WBO #1 Junior Lightweight contender, Adrien Broner who will face #6 ranked Martin Rodriguez for the vacant WBO Junior Lightweight World Title. Also rising star Gary Russell J.R. will be in action that night in Cinncinati. Should make for a great night in boxing, broadcasted by HBO Saturday November 26th 2011 at 7:30 pm PST.
Noez Predictions:
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez wins by TKO(6th round)
Adrien Broner wins by TKO(4th round)
Gary Russell J.R. wins

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s classic single “The Message” will be the first Hip-Hop recording to be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
“The Message” is one of 25 records selected by the Recording Academy’s strict governing body, which reviewed each record for its cultural impact and historical significance.
Additionally, to even be considered, the record in question must be at least 25 years old.
“The Recording Academy is dedicated to celebrating a wide variety of great music and sound through the decades,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. “We are especially honored to welcome this year’s selection of some of the most influential recordings of the last century. Marked by both cultural and historical significance, these works truly have influenced and inspired audiences for generations, and we are thrilled to induct them into our growing catalog of outstanding recordings.”
The Message was also the title of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s debut release for Sugarhill Records.
Upon its release the group consisted of Grandmaster Melle Mel, Scorpio, Kid Creole, Cowboy, Rahiem and Grandmaster Flash.
In addition to Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s “The Message,” a number of other historical American recordings were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame as well.

Angulo vs Kirkland: Fight Review
Angulo v Kirkland lived up to what I expected out of these 2 warriors, fireworks! From the opening bell they went to war, producing possibly the round of the year. Angulo knocked down Kirkland with what was a flash knockdown in the 1st minute, which didn't seem to hurt Kirkland. Angulo swarmed Kirland for about 2 minutes but could not finish him, Angulo punched himself out. Kirkland got his 2nd wind and proceeded to go to work on Angulo, landing power shots that took a toll on Angulo & eventually knocked down Angulo, what a 1st round! Angulo never seemed to recover from that point on, as Kirkland took advatage & started racking up round after round. Angulo showed great heart by trying to fight through Kirkland's onslaught, but he was too gassed to recover from Kirkland's powerful pressure. Kirkland wound up stopping Angulo in the 6th round, what a fight. Just what boxing needed, a shot in the arm. These 2 warriors put it all on the line, but at the end, Kirkland catapulted himself as a true contender in the division, as for Angulo, he can only hold his head up high with pride for showing great heart. I would not mind watching Angulo v Kirkland 2 in the future, this fight was what boxing is all about, heart & action.
*For the record, I did pick Angulo to win by stoppage in the 6th, it ended up being Kirkland with win by stoppage.

Angulo vs Kirkland: Fight Preview
As soon as I caught wind of this fight happening, I was immediately filled with excitement & anticipation. Alfredo 'Perro' Angulo was put on ice for about 2 years due to his fallout with promoter Gary Shaw. Since then, El 'Perro' has signed on with Golden Boy Promotions & has been involved in one fight that Angulo immediately finished his opponent in one round. In addition to a new promoter, Perro has also upgraded to Hall-of-Fame trainer, Nacho Beristein, Perro has set himself up with a team that can propel his career to new heights.
James 'Mandingo Warrior' Kirkland, also was iced for a couple of years, not to any promotional disputes like Angulo, Kirkland was iced due to being incarcerated on gun charges. Kirkland was well on his way to becoming a superstar with his trainer Ann Wolf & Golden Boy Promotions at the helm of his career, but due to the incarceration, Kirkland's career was put on a sudden halt. After about 2 years, Kirkland hired a new trainer & had to prove himself by taking on any competition that he can find, fighting a bunch of no-names to climb up the ladder just to get back to where he once was headed. Kirkland ran into another speed bump when he took on Japanese, Nobuhiro Ishida who fought with an incredible Japanese spirit that shocked and ended up knocking out Kirkland in the 1st round to give James a taste of defeat. Since that defeat, Kirkland has reunited himself with trainer Ann Wolf, & has been demolishing his competition.
It all leads up to tonights fight on HBO's Boxing After Dark, which is set for some real fireworks. Both fighters are ready to give their careers a real boost by winning tonights match. The winner will become an instant player in the Super Welterweight division. Most importantly, these two combatants can give the sport of boxing a much needed shot in the arm after fans have been really disappointed with the recent shenanigans that have been displayed on Pay-Per-View main events. Kudos to Golden Boy Promotions for matching Angulo v Kirkland & for having it on regular HBO, this fight can possibly produce a positive buzz that boxing so dearly needs right now to get the sport back on the radar of the common sports fan. Angulo v Kirkland, prepare for some fireworks tonight! Check it out on HBO's Boxing after dark.
Noez Prediction: Angulo will stop Kirkland in the 6th round.

Star Power: Review
Star Power tooked place this past Saturday, the 3 major fights were, Morales v Cano, Alvarez v Gomez & of course, Ortiz v Mayweather. I wasn't fortunate enough to catch the fights live, despite my attempt to watch it online with a choppy feed at my gig. Nevertheless, I couldn't escape the buzz of the aftermath that took place in Vegas during the main event.
I watched the whole card the next day on my mac. Morales v Cano was a fight where Morales displayed his warriorness, is that a word? Cano got the better of 'El Terrible' in the early rounds, where Morales was a bit uncomfortable with his younger scrappy foe, Pablo Cesar Cano. Erik Morales tooked control of the fight in the middle & late rounds when he got into his warrior mentality & began punishing Cano while deconstructing Pablo's face. At the end, Morales proved to be too much for Cano, when his corner put a halt to the bout, enabling Morales to score a 10th round TKO. Morales made history when he caputred a World Tilte in 4 weight divisions.
Alvarez v Gomes tooked place at Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Alfonso Gomez aggressively brought the fight to Canelo Alvarez. Despite being knocked down at the end of the 1st round, Gomez had Alvarez fighting very 'un-Canelo'-like in the early rounds. Canelo managed to work himself back into the fight while delivering his style of fighting the consists of combinations to the head and body. In the 6th round, Alvarez hurt Gomez with an uppercut that staggered him to the ropes, where Canelo met him with a barrage of combo's before the ref made, what seemed to be, an early stoppage to the bout. Nevertheless, Canelo successfully defended his title, much to the joy of the fans in Los Angeles.
Lastly, but not least, the main event, Ortiz v Mayweather:
By Andreas Hale and Anthony Springer Jr. at ringside
Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KOs) to claim the WBC crown in round four on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Ortiz had a good round two, but Floyd was back in charge in the third. After an Ortiz attempt at an intentional headbutt in round four, Cortez broke the action and deducted a point from Ortiz. Cortez called time back in and Ortiz went to Mayweather, embraced him and apologized, Mayweather then clocked Ortiz with two shots as he was stepping back and knocked him out.
My 2 cents on Ortiz v Mayweather:
I really think Ortiz initiated the whole thing. If you followed 24/7, Ortiz's camp was stressing how Mayweather was a 'dirty' fighter, cause he uses elbows. I would never have thought that Ortiz would be so overwhelmed by Floyd that he would stoop to fighting dirty, by throwing a deliberate head-butt. Even worse, the over affection that Ortiz showed to Floyd during the fight, which ultimately brought an end to Ortiz. I understand he was apologetic for literally losing his head, but Ortiz was in a fight, there was no need for him to lose focus, and that he did. He expected Cortez, who only God knows where his head was, to say something to Floyd after he supposedly 'sucker-punched' Ortiz. Floyd saw that Ortiz was completely un-focused at that point, leaving Mayweather no choice but to throw another punch that ended up destroying Ortiz. The moral of this for Ortiz & all fighters in general, is to "Protect Yourself At All Times", & more equally as important, never lose focus. Mayweather caught alot of heat by media members & fans, but I thought Ortiz deserved more blame for opening the door, with his deliberate head-butt. Mayweather has alot of haters out there, I don't like Floyd's antics at times, & don't like his defensive style of fighting, but I respect Floyd for what he has accomplished as a fighter. Also, alot of people began saying that Saturdays fight is why they hate boxing, but forget that they are still tuned in. Don't let Pacquiao v Mayweather happen, cause those same people that swore they would never watch another boxing match again, will be glued to the TV sets all into the fight.

Shot of the Day...
During the final press conference of the 'Star Power' card, Ortiz v Mayweather, both fighters are in agreement that Satuday's fight will be a heads on affair, we an only hope for such a fight. Here is Mayweather taunting Ortiz with an "unidentified object' that I can't make out...maybe you can.
Bump of the Day
This edition of 'Bump of the Day' takes to this morning when I was listening to Morning Becomes Ecclectic hosted by Jason Bentley on 88.9 KCRW. Jason dropped a cool remix of Saturday Love, he then transitioned into Cherrell & Alexander O'neals original version which brought immediate bliss to my ears which in turn made my day. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Love...

Jedi Mind Tricks-Target Practice
On October 25, 2011, JMT is set to drop its seventh studio album, “Violence Begets Violence”, through Vinnie Paz’s own imprint, Enemy Soil. Though JMT fans can expect more of the uncompromising, unrelenting brand of hardcore rap music that has become the group’s signature sound, “Violence Begets Violence,” marks a change (something the group has undeniably become accustomed to over the years) as longtime JMT producer, Stoupe, hands over production duties to a new wave of talented producers honed in on the JMT sound; but set on creating a fresh take on a classic formula.
Here is the first leak, “Target Practice,” from JMT’s “Violence Begets Violence” (produced by Hypnotist Beats)

How To Snag A Baseball
Just this year I was lucky enough to get a foul ball, with a little help, at Dodger Stadium, my 2nd baseball ever obtained at an MLB park. This guy featured in this piece has gotten tons of foul balls & baseballs tossed to him by MLBers. This dude is a bit extreme, nevertheless an interesting piece if you want to know some secrets on how to get a baseball next time you are at the ballpark.
Pacquiao v Marquez=Douche-chills
Pacquiao v Marquez should be celebrated as a great trilogy between these 2 warriors. Instead, they have been providing some major douche-chills during their media tour. Here we see them in a sing-off, yes a freakin' sing-off...yikes!

Manny Being Manny
November 12th 2011, Manny Pacquiao squares off for the 3rd time against World Class Juan Manuel Marquez. These 2 are currently on a Press Tour to promote their highly anticipated fight. Manny is one heck of a fighter, and arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer in the game right now, but when it comes to entertaining, he's as cheesy as a Ritz cracker. Here is Manny just being Manny, as he sing's a duet with Dan Hill, "Sometimes When We Touch," to open up the N.Y. Presser...mad douche-chills!

Bump of the Day
Oh my goodness! This cut is mad nostalgic...takes me back to when I was in my early teen years staying up late listening to Power Tools & Groove TV introduce Jungle to the west coast listeners. I was so mesmerized by this particular cut, Goldie's 'Inner City Life', I can sit & listen to this over & over again!
The video as I remember it back then on Ch. 38, I think it was, Groove TV!
