Fight Preview: Rios v Alvarado II

This Saturday Night in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay, Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios faces off against 'Mile High' Mike Alvarado for the WBO Interim Junior Welterweight Championship.  This will be the rematch to their 'Fight of the Year' Candidate bout last October, in which Rios stopped Alvarado by TKO in the 7th Round.  It was 'Bombs Away' as both fighters threw punches in bunches contesting each others assault with brutal punches.  This time Alvarado hopes to have learned a thing or two as he attempts to avenge his only loss to Rios.  Both fighters have been talking on how they will approach this 2nd meeting with each other, but ultimately, they both expect a continuation of the last bout to break out once again.  If that is the case, we as fight fans, are in for another treat with Rios v Alvarado II.
High stakes are on the line for these two warriors.  If Brandon can beat Mike once again, he sets himself up for possibly a huge fight against the cream of the crop at the Junior Welterweight division at Top Rank.  These fighters include, Timothy Bradley, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.  For Alvarado, a win could put him in the running against the mentioned fighters, or depending on the outcome of the fight, can possibly create a trilogy versus Rios.  Nevertheless, this rematch can become once again "Fight of the Year" candidate without a doubt, knowing that both fighters will be going in to tomorrows bout not only to attempt to catapult themselves to huge fights, but to also bring fireworks and put on a show for the fans, as they did in their first bout.
Rios v Alvarado II will be televised by HBO's "World Championship Boxing" live from Mandalay Bay in Vegas at 6pm PST.

Here's a look back to Rios v Alvarado I, just to get you ready for Part II:
